Philosophy for Children New Zealand Mini-Conference
“Learning to Think through Philosophical Inquiry”
8th (evening) and 9th June 2012

Find out how Philosophy for Children has transformed children’s thinking in a Brisbane school, from Lynne Hinton (Adjunct Professor, Queensland University of Technology, and former Principal of Buranda School, Brisbane).
See how children’s literature can be used to facilitate philosophical inquiry with Tom Wartenberg (Professor of Philosophy at Mt Holyoke College, USA)
Learn how to ensure that philosophical progress is made in communities of inquiry, from Dr Clinton Golding (Higher Education Development Centre, Univerity of Otago)
Attend practical workshops that focus on reasoning and the teaching of thinking skills, and participate in philosophical communites of inquiry.
This mini-conference will be of interest both to those who have not yet encountered Philosophy for Children and to beginning or experienced faciliators of P4C.
